Cameron Gomez is an orthopaedic manipulative physical therapist and acupuncturist with over 16 years of experience helping people optimize their movement health and recover from injury.

Cameron graduated with honors from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons with a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2008.  Prior to earning his DPT, Cameron obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Columbia University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and was the winner of the Phi Beta Kappa prize.  Inspired by the profound benefits of acupuncture he experienced personally, Cameron was driven to broaden his education beyond the realm of western medicine and obtained a Masters of Science in Acupuncture from the Tri-State College of Acupuncture in 2018.

Prior to founding Cameron Gomez Physical Therapy & Acupuncture, Cameron worked for over 10 years as a senior therapist at Westside Dance Physical Therapy, working on-site with the New York City Ballet and the School of American Ballet.  He is continuing to treat dancers on-site at the New York City Ballet. His former career as a professional ballet dancer fuels his ongoing passion for helping dancers to achieve and maintain their optimal health and performance levels.  Cameron danced with the American Ballet Theatre Studio Company, San Francisco Ballet, and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre before retiring to pursue a career in physical therapy. Cameron is grateful to have the opportunity to merge his personal knowledge of ballet with his clinical expertise in physical therapy and acupuncture to help the dancers of New York City Ballet perform at their best.

Cameron is passionate about continuing education and orthopaedic manual physical therapy, striving to provide exemplary evidence-based practice to all of his patients.  In 2014, he obtained his post-graduate certification as an orthopaedic manipulative therapist (COMT) through the North American Institute of Orthoapedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT).  In 2015, Cameron became certified as a clinical specialist in orthopaedic physical therapy (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.  Dr. Gomez then went on to complete the NAIOMT fellowship in orthopaedic manual therapy under the direct mentorship of Erl Pettman.  Upon graduation in 2017, Cameron became a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.

In addition to his clinical work caring for patients, Dr. Gomez maintains an adjunct faculty position in the Columbia University Program in Physical Therapy, where he teaches two elective courses, one in dance medicine and the other on the rehabilitation of foot & ankle injuries.  In his spare time, Cameron enjoys spending time with his partner, playing with his family of fur-babies, lifting weights at the gym, running, traveling to tropical islands, surfing, and scuba diving.
